Dr. Carey is an Associate Professor (Adjunct) with the Palliative Care Unit, School of Psychology and Public Health, in the School of Health, Science and Engineering at La Trobe University, and Associate Professor (Adjunct) with the Institute for Ethics and Society, The University of Notre Dame, Sydney. He first commenced tertiary teaching and research over 32 years ago with the Lincoln Institute of Health Sciences (Melbourne: 1989) and then with La Trobe University since 1991 where served either part-time or full-time for 30 years.
