Webster Rural and Regional Dementia Care project: Final Report and Dementia Pathways Directory
This report presents the findings from the Webster Rural and Regional Dementia Care project. The Webster project aimed to facilitate better access to dementia care and support services within the Greater Bendigo region, with the objective to develop a dementia pathways directory for residents of Bendigo and the surrounding regions (the directory is included at the end of the report, and published separately elsewhere:doi:10.26181/22631275, https://www.latrobe.edu.au/research/jrc/projects, https://www.latrobe.edu.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0005/1445927/Dementia-Pathways-directory_Full-version.pdf).
The project sought to identify:
• Barriers and facilitators to accessing dementia care and support services within the Greater Bendigo region, for carers and people living with dementia.
• How carers can be better supported to navigate dementia care and support services within the Greater Bendigo region.
In addressing these aims, the project consisted of three distinct stages (which took place between 2019-21):
Stage 1: Carers’ experiences
Stage 2: Local stakeholders’ perspectives on dementia care pathways
Stage 3: Development of the Dementia Care and Support Service Pathways Directory for the Greater Bendigo region
The project methods and findings associated with these three stages are detailed in the report.
