Solinary: Translating Health: Proof of Concept Evaluation

This report documents an independent evaluation of the capacity of Solinary to ensure that relevant, vetted, culturally appropriate information in languages other than English can be effectively disseminated to relevant community members at the same time that such information is disseminated in English. The evaluation team interviewed stakeholders in client-facing, strategic governance and policy roles who are responsible for communicating health and other information to diverse communities in multiple languages. Preliminary interviews questioned participants about current practices in communicating alerts in diverse languages, including the challenges encountered. Subsequent interviews provided participants with a sample of Solinary health alerts and prompted discussion about the anticipated advantages and disadvantages of using the tool.
