Health service providers in Far North Queensland have identified chronic hepatitis B having an increasing impact on primary health services in the Torres Strait. This perspective is supported by data showing the region having the highest per capita notifications of chronic hepatitis B in Queensland, and other research showing a disproportionate impact of chronic hepatitis B on Indigenous people, particularly in remote communities. This qualitative study investigated how health service providers in the Torres Strait are responding to chronic hepatitis B.
