<p dir="ltr">A report on the Open Education (OE) Global Conference 2024 from the perspective of a Biochemistry teaching-focused academic. This conference was held in Brisbane, Australia from 13–15 November 2024.</p><p dir="ltr">This is an accepted manuscript that was published in the Australian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) journal, Australian Biochemist. It is a feature written each year by the winner of the ASBMB SDR Scientific Education Award.</p>
