Conceptual analysis of self-regulation: Combining education and occupational therapy perspectives
Dr Philpott-Robinson will discuss the research conducted as part of her PhD, which explored the construct of self-regulation, a common area of referral for occupational therapists working with Autistic and non-autistic children. Kelsey will present the findings from a series of studies that examined how self-regulation is described in occupational therapy and education literature, and share the contemporary experiences of occupational therapists practicing in this space. Kelsey will conclude the seminar with a proposed conceptual framework aligning these findings in the context of occupational therapy practice, with considerations for future research and clinical directions.
