Organogenesis in plants involves differential growth. Rapidly growing primordia are distinguished from the meristem and each other by slower growing boundaries. PETAL LOSS (PTL) is a trihelix transcription factor of Arabidopsis that represses growth in boundaries between newly arising sepals.
