Decolonizing Geology: A Discussion

Critiques of the geological sciences role in the history of Western colonialism and empire, racism, climate injustice, and carbon capitalism, are familiar. The conversation here considers how the geological sciences have never only been Western. It opens the discussion of decolonizing geology onto questions of how to multiply the geological tradition and expand our conception of earth knowledge and science.
