Zooplankton-net trawls from Mount Buffalo reservoir, Lake Catani, and five streams in the surrounding area yielded 75 taxa of microfauna (testate rhizopods, rotifers, microcrustacea) and eight taxa of small macroinvertebrates. Most taxa are new records for the National Park. At least seven testates and one rotifer apparently are new records for Australia. Of seven sites sampled, Lake Catani had the most diverse microfauna (31 taxa), otherwise species diversity was low. There was little similarity in microfaunal assemblages between sites.
