<p dir="ltr">"Autistic people communicate differently to non-Autistic people. Further, Autistic people may misinterpret communication by others and may be misinterpreted in their own communication. This may give rise to challenges in access to justice in ADR contexts, particularly in mediation which is based on communication between the parties facilitated by a mediator. To fulfil the aims of the International Principles and Guidelines on Access to Justice for Persons with Disabilities, Autistic parties engaging in court-ordered ADR processes should have access to an intermediary for support if necessary."</p>
