Bauman and Tester at the movies

“There is a photograph missing from this book. An empty room, featuring an empty chair. Keith Tester is an absent presence in these pages. The final doctoral student of Zygmunt Bauman at Leeds, he was to become his foremost interpreter. Keith is the missing participant from this project. Bauman died on 9 January 2017. Tester died on 14 January 2019. This dual demise was not causally connected, but it was uncanny. Keith died way too young, short of sixty. He died too young to develop his own late style.”
