One of the blokes

This publication accompanied the exhibition, One of the Blokes a solo exhibition by Melbourne based artist Brendan Lee, at La Trobe University Museum of Art, Melbourne, 3 September to 26 October 2012. Curated by Michael Brennan. The exhibition, a large scale installation included photographs and video works set amongst tyres, car parts and boxes. The work explored themes of identity, masculinity, nationalism and culture thought the lens of the Australian 'bogan'. The publication includes an introduction by Vincent Alessi, essay by Michael Brennan, an image index, a catalogue of works, artists curriculum vitae and 54 illustrations (33 colour).
