Head case

This publication accompanied the exhibition Head Case, a solo exhibition by Melbourne based artist Darren Wardle at La Trobe Art Institute, Bendigo, 18 June to 10 August 2014. Curated by Vincent Alessi. This exhibition includes a series of small, intimate portraiture paintings. The works explore the physical and emotional states of facial trauma. Wardle presents his portraits with soft focus and close up frame, of subjects he has not met in person but rather via the internet. The publication includes an essay by Vincent Alessi, a catalogue of works and 19 illustrations (colour).
