This e-publication accompanied the solo exhibition 'Far from the eye' by Melbourne-based artist Danica Chappell, at La Trobe Art Institute, Bendigo, from 27 January to 18 April 2021. The exhibition was curated by Kent Wilson. It was part of the PHOTO 2021 International Festival of Photography.

The exhibition included a major new series of works informed by an exchange with chemical biologist Donna Whelan from the La Trobe Institute for Molecular Science. The solo exhibition was accompanied by a large-scale public artwork titled 'Far from the eye: dark field', presented on the La Trobe Art Institute façade from 16 February to 25 October 2021.

The publication includes an introduction by Kent Wilson, essays by Anne O'Hehir and Bryan Spier, an artist’s statement by Danica Chappell, an interview with Danica Chappell and Donna Whelan by Kent Wilson and 14 illustrations (colour).
