Crossing the line: from polliwogs to shellbacks

This publication accompanied the exhibition Crossing the Line: From Polliwogs to Shellbacks, a solo exhibition by Melbourne based artist Christopher Köller at La Trobe University Museum of Art, Melbourne. Curated by Michael Brennan and Anita La Pietra. This exhibition includes textiles, an installation and both historical and contemporary photography charting the physical and emotional journey of migration. The work explores themes of belonging, sense of place and diverse cultures. The publication includes introduction by Michael Brennan, interview with the artist by Anita La Pietra, a catalogue of works and 25 illustrations (colour).
