This publication accompanied the exhibition, A Language of the Vanishing, a solo exhibition by Melbourne based artist Claudia Terstappen at La Trobe University Museum of Art, Bundoora 22 February to 22 April 2016, La Trobe Art Institute, Bendigo 28 September to 6 November 2016 and Murray Art Museum Albury 5 January 12 February 2017. The exhibition was curated by Anita La Pietra. The works included photographic documentation of various roadkill found on many roads around Australia, alongside images of early 20th century scientific archives of native fauna. The exhibition brought together science, art and photography as a means by which to question our relationship with local wildlife and our natural environment. The publication includes an introductory essay by Anita LA Pietra, artist curriculum vitae, catalogue of works (illustrated) and 35 illustrations (colour).
