Backwaters

This publication accompanied the exhibition Backwaters, a solo exhibition by Melbourne based artist Katherine Hattam at La Trobe University Museum of Art, Bundoora 22 September to 7 November 2014. The exhibition was curated by Anita La Pietra. The works included are a series of prints and wood block printing plates that center around the exploration and contemplation of the back waters of Melbourne. The works are abstract in nature, built from processes of collage and photomontage. The publication includes essays from Brian McGrath, Anita La Pietra, Kate Reeves and the artist Victoria Hattam. It also includes a description of the artist process, a curriculum vitae and a catalogue of works. 65 illustrations (colour)
