Autoluminescent
This e-publication accompanied the group exhibition 'Autoluminescent’, including Rebecca Baumann, Brendan Van Hek and Ross Manning at La Trobe Art Institute, Bendigo, from 18 July to 24 August 2019. The exhibition was curated by Travis Curtin. The exhibition explored the nature of visual perception, light-induced sensory experience, temporality, transformation and interplay between minimalism and monumentalism. The neon works, glass and silver wall sculptures and the installation of dichroic film across the glazed surfaces of the entire building played with reflection and refraction of light, luminosity and architectural space. The publication includes a foreword and essay by Travis Curtin, essay by Michael Graeve, artists’ biographies and 16 illustrations (colour). |
